Paying Attention

At our leadership summit (gathering of all our volunteers) last night, we made a big announcement.  After the evening, Anthony told me he wasn’t listening to what I said but watching peoples faces to gauge their response.  Even though I didn’t ask him to, Tim wrote down the names of all the people there (an amazing feat in itself) and wrote down all their questions during Q&A time.

That’s paying attention and looking at the big picture.  If you’re a church leader, you need people around you who will think of this stuff.  If you’re part of a staff, you should always be evaluating.  That’s a part of leadership.
