Background Checks

We use this company to perform background checks on everyone that works with children and students.  In the application process, we get permission from the prospective volunteer to run their background.  We keep the completed checks in a fire-proof, locked safe.

More and more church and non-profit groups are conducting background checks. Especially where children are concerned, vetting counselors and mentors is increasingly important. If nothing else, it puts the parents at ease. Of course in the worst case scenario, finding one sex offender or some other unsavory character and weeding him out is more than worth the price of the background search.

Aside from doing a search on Google, I’ve been using a program called “Net Detective” to which I use to perform background checks on potential babysitters. Have you heard of it? It works great for me, but I’ve always questioned if it was finding all that it could be. I think next time, I’ll take your suggestion and use CIA Research.

    Thanks.
