Stuff For Sale

Here’s the last of the stuff for sale. This stuff might work well for your church, and is cheaper than buying it new.

1. 26′ foot UHaul box truck. $4000.  (We paid $5,000 and then fixed it up a good bit).  It’s old, but was a lifesaver for us while portable.  One UHaul works better than three trailers.

2. A cart of pipe and drape from Georgia Expo, kind of like this.  About 50 bases, with uprights and extending cross sections, and the drapes (in portable totes with wheels). $3000.  (We paid about $5,o00)

3. A 16′ double axle trailer. $2500.  We bought it from Tenth Avenue North.

4. A big circle truss. 6 different pieces make about a 30′ circle. $2000.  Kind of like this one.

All funds will be used to pay off some debt incurred from moving into the House of Rock.   If you are interested, email Brian.

Docs and Forms

I’ve heard from several who have really appreciated the docs & forms that are now available. People are saying it’s saving hundreds of hours, which makes me happy. When we moved to Cartersville four years ago to start Oak Leaf Church, I didn’t know anything about churches, and I didn’t have one document. So I’m hoping that this package of documents can really help churches, young and old.

Documents and Forms

docsandforms

I’m pleased to announced that our Documents and Forms are available for purchase.  This is a complete set of nearly every document and form that we use…it’s like a church in a box.  Budgets, bylaws, policies, forms, handbooks, strategies, charts and more.  It’s taken us years to get this stuff to where it is now, and I would have probably killed for it three years ago.  $79 for the complete set.

Here’s the link for you to order via paypal.

Soon after your purchase, you’ll receive an email with the download link.  Here’s just some of what will be in the zip file.

Virtual Tour

We’re honored to host church planters on a regular basis, and show them everything we do on Sunday mornings at the theater.  But everyone can’t make it on a Sunday, so I filmed a video basically walking people around, showing you how we do things.  Hopefully, it’s the next best thing to visiting in person.  Let us know if you have any questions or if you see anything we can do better.

Teaching Calendar

A couple of months ago, our team went away to lay out the teaching calendar for all of next year.  We will make a few adjustments throughout the year, but we know where we’re going on the weekends from now all the way until Easter of 2010.

We use Google Docs to keep track of everything.  Not only do we lay out the series titles, we put in the key Scriptures, the big idea, announcements we know we need to make and any notes.  This document is shared across all of our staff (and a few key volunteers) so everyone can see the big picture.  This system works great for us and it’s my job (Michael, Lead Pastor) to keep this document up to date.

Fountain of Truth Resources

Here’s my message notes and the graphics for the Fountain of Truth series.  We talked about Mormonism, Islam, Judaism, Catholicism and Christianity.

Here.

Mass Emails

Several people have asked, but we use Constant Contact to send out a weekly email update to our master database.  We send out about 1,000 emails and anywhere between 30-40% of them are opened.  Through Constant Contact, we can tell what links are clicked on and who clicks on them.  Constant Contact also has a good survey feature that will track results and help you understand the data.

Communicating to our people via email is going to be even more important now that we’ve decided to do away with the bulletin and handout on Sunday mornings.  If you’re interested in Constant Contact, click on the link below.

Next Step

I thought I would share with you the resource that we provide for new believers called “Next Step”. These are available from counselors at the end of each service outside the adult theater.

  • Simple letter size envelope with “Next Step” stamped on it. In the envelope is…
  • A letter from me sharing our excitement in their decision and 4 steps to jump start their journey
  • A CD that Michael recorded outlining the step that they have taken and “what’s next”.
  • A hard copy of what Michael said on the CD with a “thirty days with Jesus” reading plan and some great web links to help them move forward.
  • A copy of “How good is good enough?” by Andy Stanley.
